Dormant & Orphan Funds

Find unclaimed funds

In banking terms a bank account is dormant if there has been no customer activity within a set time period; usually between 3 and 15 years. Most banks will write to the customers asking if they wish the account to remain active. However, in most cases the client cannot be reached, this is when a probate researcher steps in.

We can locate the current and rightful owners of dormant accounts held by banks, building societies, insurance companies and trusts. We can also track down missing shareholders and pension fund holders.

If you simply cannot locate the account holder, we are able to trace them and contact them on your behalf. We can also determine whether or not they are deceased and track down the legal beneficiaries to the funds.

This process is absolutely essential when it comes to estate administration.
